Omar is a native of Miami-Dade County and lifelong Republican. He resides in Southwest Dade County with his wife of 18 years, Carolina, and their two children, Kevin, age 16, and Lauren, age 12.
A lieutenant with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue for over 15 years, Omar is on the front lines of protecting our community. He is the current President of Miami-Dade Firefighters and Paramedics Local 1403 where he has demonstrated the ability to work with others to enhance the quality of life for both the community and firefighters who proudly serve. He helped obtain life-saving devices in every emergency vehicle in Miami-Dade County and also helped secure cancer coverage for firefighters in Florida.
Throughout his life, Omar has been a proactive, problem-solving leader. He intends to bring his many years of public service and ambition to work hard every day serving the constituents of Florida’s 26th Congressional District, which stretches from southwestern Miami-Dade County to Key West (all of Monroe County).
