8/28/2019 | MIAMI-DADE COMMISSIONER JOE MARTINEZ ENDORSES OMAR BLANCO FOR CONGRESS IN DISTRICT 26 REPUBLICAN PRIMARY
MIAMI, Fla. — Omar Blanco, who is running for the U.S. House of Representatives in Florida’s 26th Congressional District, announced his second endorsement in as many days Wednesday, collecting the public support of Miami-Dade Commissioner Joe Martinez.
Martinez was first elected in October 2000.
“Omar’s grit is exactly what Washington needs,” said Martinez, who received more than 70 awards and commendations over a 17-year career with the Miami-Dade Police Department. “I fully support Omar, whom I know to be a true Republican.”
Added Blanco: “Joe’s effective leadership on the Miami-Dade County Commission represents the style I intend to take to Washington as we work to flip Congressional District 26 to a Republican seat. I’m proud to have Joe Martinez’s support.”
Martinez, the District 11 commissioner, represents West Dade’s unincorporated areas, including Country Walk, Hammocks, Kendale Lakes, Bent Tree and Lakes of the Meadows.
