MIAMI, Fla. — Florida State Sen. Anitere Flores (R-District 39) on Thursday endorsed Omar Blanco in the Republican Primary for Florida’s 26th Congressional District.
“Today, I proudly endorse Omar Blanco for U.S. Congress,” Sen. Anitere Flores said. “I have known Omar and his family for several years, and I have seen firsthand the tenacity and leadership that will service him well in Washington, D.C. I applaud his commitment to our community and can assure you he will lead with a determination like no other candidate.”
Sen. Flores was the sponsor in the Senate for the Firefighter Cancer Coverage bill this past legislative session. Blanco and his firefighter associates, along with Sen. Flores, navigated the legislative process to successfully pass this bill.
“As President of Miami-Dade Local 1403, Sen. Flores became a trusted advisor and, most importantly, a close friend,” Blanco said. “Anitere is not only a remarkable role model, she is also a dedicated public servant who will be integral in ensuring that we flip Congressional District 26 red. I am humbled by her support.”
The majority of Senate District 39 is in Congressional District 26, covering southern and western Miami-Dade County and all of Monroe County
